Upper Mustang Trek : The Buddhist society of Upper Mustang is divided into groups comparable to the castes of Hindu culture. The occupational castes, regarded as the lowest ,comprise the Ghara, Shemba and Emeta (Blacksmiths, butchers and musicians respectively). The highland nomads, called Dropka , take an outsiders position of slightly higher status . The middle class consists of The Phalwa, who now often prefer to call themselves Gurung . The Kudek, who have adopted the Nepali name Bista for their clan, make up the nobility and family of Lo Tsho Dyun.
Upper Mustang Trek Facts
Day 1 : Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport and pick up you by our private vehicle and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 2 : Full day guided sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley.
Day 3 : 7 hrs drive or 30 min fly to Pokhara and check in hotel.
Day 4 : 25 minutes fly to Jomsom and commence trek to Kagbeni (2800m) 3 hrs
Day 5 : Kagbeni to Chaile. (3050m) 7 hrs
Day 6 : Tsaile to Gheling. (3500m) 6hr
Day 7 : Gheling to Ghami. (3645m) 6 hrs.
Day 8 : Ghami to Tsarang (3550m) 6 hrs .
Day 9 : Tsarang to Lomangthang. (3800m) 6 hrs .
Day 10 : Lo-Manthang to Chhoser for Cave . Overnight at lo-manthang.
Day 11 : Explore Lo-Manthang 3720 m.
Day 12 : Back to Ghemi via Dhi overnight at Ghemi 3490 m .
Day 13 : Ghami to Samar. 6 hrs .
Day 14 : Samar to Chhusang (2920) 6 hrs .
Day 15 : Chhusang to Muktinath 4 hrs .
Day 16 : Muktinath to Jomsom. 5 hrs
Day 17 : Jomsom to Pokhara by flight.
Day 18 : 7 hrs drive or 30 min fly to Kathmandu.
Day 19 : Transfer to airport. Trip concludes.
