Phulchoki Hike
Phulchowki Hike , at an elevation of 2782m, is the highest hill in the Kathmandu valley. Hiking into this area is most interesting in terms of vegetation and bird life. You begin early in the morning with a 14km/45min drive from Kathmandu to Godavari, where the Royal Botanical Garden is located. From here you hike gradually uphill along a rugged motorable road through sub-tropical thick forest about four hours. The magnificent view of Himalayan range and the Kathmandu valley is breathtaking on a clear day. After a short rest, a 2-hour walk down the same trail will bring you back to Godawari, from where you drive back to Kathmandu.
