Mardi Himal Homestay Trekking
ITINERARY:
DAY 1 : ARRIVAL DAY
This is the first welcoming day that we meet upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to Hotel. Short briefing will be followed about necessary formalities and rest of the program. Depending on your arrival time you will have choice of visiting nearby sanctuaries or rest of the time free for leisure come dinner await for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.
DAY 2 : KATHMANDU VALLEY SIGHTSEEING
On this day, we visit UNESCO listed world heritage sites including holy Pashupatinath Temple which is biggest pilgrimage site for Hindus, Boudhanath Stupa & Swayambhunath which are pilgrimage site for Buddhist and Kathmandu Durbar Square which is full of arts and culture with wood carving on it. We move back to hotel for rest. Overnight in Kathmandu.
DAY 3: DRIVE TO POKHARA, (5-6 HOURS DRIVE), 204 KM
Today we drive to Pokhara (204 km), approximately 6 hours away by tourist bus. We will see good scenery of countryside while driving. We will be arriving late afternoon at Pokhara. Pokhara is an enchanting Himalayan Valley of remarkable beauty. We can explore its scenic land on your own like boating in Fewa Lake over looking the region of Annapurna Himalayan ranges. In the evening prepare for the trek. Overnight in Pokhara.
DAY 4 : DRIVE TO KANDE, 40 MIN DRIVE AND TREK TO DEURALI, 4-5 HOURS TREK
You drive to the trail head, the route from Kande is a good one and very few trekkers choose to start the trek from here. The trail is good, first slowly up, then a bit steeper to Australian Camp (2060 m – About one hour), then after an early lunch slightly downhill to Pothana (1950 m) and the ACAP / TIMS checkpoint, then up again to Deurali (2100m, 4-5 hours walking).Deurali is overlooking into the Modi Khola valley wedged between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal / Mt Fishtail. Overnight at Lodge.
DAY 5 : TREK TO FOREST CAMP TREK(3 TO 4 HOURS WALK)
After spending beautiful morning in the ridge top village of Deurali, we head off the main Annapurna trekking trail and follow the forested ridge to Forest camp. Since this is new trekking destination, there are no tea houses along the way and we need to carry pack lunch and sufficient water. The day’s walk in the rhododendron forest is beautiful with gradual uphill.
DAY 6: LOW CAMP TREK (3 TO 4 HOURS WALK)
The trail gradually climbs through the rhododendron forest following the ridge. Low camp has got couple of tea houses in the clearing of the forest. The view of Mt Fishtail and Mardi Himal appears much closer. You find yourself closer to clear blue sky with view of layers of Himalayan foothills and sweeping valley towards south. Note: You can trek 1 more hr to Badal Danda (Cloud Hill) above the tree line in consent of guide for better view. There is only one lodge in Badal Danda.
DAY 7 : HIGH CAMP TREK(2 TO 3 HOURS WALK) VIA. NANGE DANGA (NAKED HILL)
The trail further climbs along the ridge towards Mardi Himal and Mt Fishtail. From Badal Danda, we leave the tree line and arrive in shrubby alpine zone. Snow capped peaks of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and Fishtail looms in a distance above deep valley on the either side. High camp is a small pasture after the climb with 3 lodges. Here you find yourself above the clouds and closer to snow capped peaks.
DAY 8 : HIKE TO UPPER VIEW POINT AND BACK TO HIGH CAMP,(4-5 HOUR WALK)
After breakfast, we hike up to Upper view point for around 2 hours. After we reach there, we get to see the best view of Annapurna range and high mountain peaks among the trip. With all sightseeing in up there, we then return back to the High Camp for rest. Overnight at High Camp.
DAY 9: TREK TO LANDRUK VILLAGE, (5-6 HOURS WALK)
After breakfast, our trail climbs down steeply through Rhododendron and Maple forests for around 5-6 hours to reach Landruk village. Landruk is a Gurung village with rich culture, lifestyle and organic food.The village farmers also grow organic tea in 50 hectors of land. Farmers offer home-stay accommodation. The waterfall in the outskirt of the village offers one of the most exciting canyoning adventures.
DAY 10 : TREK TO NAYAPUL, (5-6 HOURS WALK) AND DRIVE TO POKHARA, 1 HOUR
Down to the Mardi River basin and drive back to Pokhara. It will take about 1 ½ hrs to get to Pokhara. The first 1 hr is drive on the dirt road. Overnight at Pokhara.
DAY 11 : JOURNEY FROM POKHARA TO KATHMANDU(5 TO 6 HOURS DRIVE), 204KM
After breakfast, we check out from hotel and return back to Kathmandu covering 204 km distance in 6-7 hours travel time. After arriving to Kathmandu, we then stay at hotel for rest and overnight. You can also enjoy doing some last minute shopping around Thamel.
DAY 12 : DEPARTURE DAY
Today is departure day. Our office representative will pick you up from hotel and drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for departure leaving you unforgettable memory of our trek.
