Itinerary for Jomsom Muktinath Eco Trekking
Day 1: Arrival day in Kathmandu [1,300m/4,264ft]
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with the hotel transfer. Spend the rest of the day exploring the vibrant streets of Kathmandu and preparing for your trek.
Day 2: Fly to Pokhara [823m/2,700ft] and Trek to Tikhendhunga [1,552m/5,090ft]:
4-5 hrs After an early morning flight to Pokhara, you will begin your trek to Tikhendhunga. The trail offers beautiful views of the lush landscapes and terraced fields as you make your way to the picturesque village of Tikhendhunga.
Day 3: Tikhedhunda to Ghorepani [2,750m/9,020ft]:
6-7 hrs Today’s trek takes you through rhododendron and oak forests, crossing several streams and suspension bridges. You will reach Ghorepani, a charming village located at the foot of Poon Hill.
Day 4: Ghorepani to Tatopani [1,190m/3,904ft]:
5-6 hrs Wake up early to hike up to Poon Hill for a stunning sunrise view over the Himalayas. Afterward, you will trek down to Tatopani, a village known for its natural hot springs.
Day 5: Tatopani to Ghasa [2,110m/6,922ft]:
5-6 hrs The trail from Tatopani to Ghasa takes you through picturesque villages and offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Day 6: Ghasa to Marpha [2,680m/8,792ft]:
4-5 hrs Today’s trek leads you through the beautiful apple orchards of Marpha, a village famous for its apple production and traditional architecture.
Day 7: Marpha to Kagbeni [2,810m/9,218ft]:
4-5 hrs As you trek to Kagbeni, you will experience the changing landscapes and the influence of Tibetan culture in the region.
Day 8: Kagbeni to Muktinath [3,710m/12,170ft]:
5-6 hrs The trail from Kagbeni to Muktinath takes you to the sacred temple of Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.
Day 9: Muktinath to Jomsom [2,715m/8,910ft]:
5-6 hrs From Muktinath, you will trek to Jomsom, the district headquarters of Mustang, where you can enjoy the serene beauty of the Kali Gandaki River valley.
Day 10: Jomsom to Pokhara by flight:
After breakfast in Jomsom, you will take a scenic flight back to Pokhara, where your trek will conclude. You can spend the rest of the day exploring Pokhara or simply relaxing by the beautiful Phewa Lake.
